Previously announced as the 7000, the Bombardier Global 7500 was type certified in September 2018 and officially entered service later that year in December. Initially Bombardier planned to release the 7500 in 2016. Although, they decided to delay its release. To work on reducing the weight of the wing, while maintaining its aerodynamics.
The 7500 ultra long-range business jet is an upgrade to the Global 6000. Besides the wing, Bombardier has updated many features such as its range, cabin size, avionics, flight deck and more. (1)
Performance
With the ability to seat up to 19 passengers in a standard configuration. The Global 7500 is able to travel to a maximum range of approximately 7,700 nautical miles, with 8 passengers including pilot and crew. This is comparable to the G700 and the Falcon 10X.
The maximum cruise speed on this aircraft is around Mach 0.925, while its maximum operating altitude is 51,000 ft. When it comes to maximum takeoff distance, the 7500 is at 5,760 ft, where its maximum landing distance is 2, 237 ft.
As for the engines, you can find twin General Electric Passport turbofans with 18,920 lbs force of thrust. In March of 2019, Bombardier & GE set a world record by flying from Singapore to Arizona. The trip lasted a little over 16 hours and had a total range of approximately 8,152 nautical miles. (2)
Interior
The cabin on the Global 7500 features four living spaces and measures 6 ft 2″ height, 8 ft in width and 54 ft 5″ in length. This measurement starts from the cockpit driver to the aft most cabin excluding the baggage compartment. Within the cabin you will notice Bombardier’s “Pur” air which features an advanced HEPA filter that helps to purify and replace cabin air.
When it comes to avionics, Bombardier uses their Vision Flight Deck (Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion) which features 4 large LCD displays. It also includes their fly-by-wire technology with side stick controllers, Head-Up Display (HUD), enhanced Vision system, MultiScan weather radar and more. (3)
Additional Information
- You can find 28/29 windows in the cabin on the Global 7500 aircraft, which measure 22″ tall and 14″ wide each.
