The Bombardier Challenger 650 was first introduced at the EBACE in Geneva in 2015. It is an update to the Challenger 605 and includes an upgraded cabin, avionics, increased range and an increase in takeoff thrust. This large jet is known to have one of the widest cabins in its class. Essentially allowing you enough room to move freely and enough space for additional configurations or baggage if needed.
With redesigned seats and easy access to the baggage compartment, the cabin is also well connected wirelessly. This allows you fast access to internet connectivity, along with access to many controls throughout the cabin.
Performance
The Challenger 650 is powered by two GE Aviation CF34-3B turbofans that include 9,220 lbs force of thrust each. Its maximum cruise speed is approximately Mach 0.85 along with a maximum cruise altitude (or maximum operating altitude) of 41,000 ft.
In a standard configuration, the 650 is capable of seating up to 12 passengers. It can travel a maximum range of approximately 4,000 nautical miles with 6 passengers on board, including a pilot and crew. It also has a normal cruise speed of approximately Mach 0.80.
Also, with the 650 you can expect a maximum take off weight (MTOW) of approximately 48,200 lbs and a maximum landing weight (MLW) of 38,000 lbs.
Interior
For its class, this aircraft is considered to have one of the widest cabins. In its current configuration, the cabin stands 6 ft in height, 7 ft 11″ in width and 25 ft 7″ in length. The galley is quite spacious with plenty of room to work and operate an oven, microwave, sink and more. It also has a sound insulating entry door and standard cockpit close out curtains.
Another interesting feature is their cabin management system (CMS). This technology was designed by Lufthansa Technik and gives passengers almost full control of their entertainment and wireless connectivity within the aircraft. *includes an ergonomic angled side-ledge / control unit.
When it comes to avionics, the Challenger 650 uses the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 advanced Vision flight deck. It includes four large LCD displays, the Synthetic Vision System (SVS), MultiScan weather radar, Dual Inertial Reference System (IRS), a Dual Flight Management System and more.
Additional Information:
- The internal baggage compartment on this aircraft is accessible in flight, and is approximately 115 cu ft.
*These are general specifications of the above mentioned aircraft. Please see each listing for details on their individual specifications, layout and performance.
