The concept of the Citation X (C750) aircraft from Cessna was first started in 1990. It had its first flight in late 1993 and received type certification from the Federal Aviation Association (FAA) in 1996. It delivered its first aircraft later that same year to golfer Arnold Palmer.
Around the summer of 2007, this super mid-size jet had logged close to one million flight hours. Moreover, in November 2009 the aircraft completed its 300th delivery. The Citation X has also won the Robert J. Collier Trophy in 1996.
Years later, Cessna introduced an upgrade to the Citation X, which began in 2002. These upgrades improved areas of the aircraft such as the engines, avionics and more. In 2013, Cessna decided to update the aircraft again by improving the overall speed, range, longer cabin, avionics and winglets to name a few. (1)
Performance
In a standard configuration. The powerplant located within the Citation X consists of two Rolls-Royce AE3007C1 engines, with 6,442 lbs force of thrust each. The maximum cruise speed that you will experience on this aircraft is approximately Mach 0.79. While the number of travelers that can fly is up to 8 passengers (+2 pilot and crew).
When it comes to range, the maximum this aircraft can travel is 3,070 nautical miles. Its maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) is approximately 36,100 lbs and its maximum landing weight (MLW) is around 31,800 lbs. (2)
Interior
As you move to the interior, the standard internal dimensions measure; 5 ft 8″ in height, 5 ft 5″ in width and 23 ft 11″ in length. The baggage compartment is also approximately 81 ft³ of volume (approx. 104 ft³ with the upgrade).
In the flight deck, you can expect to find the Honeywell Primus 2000 Integrated Avionics system. It provides flight management, digital flight guidance as well as an electronic display system.
In the newer Citation X, you will identify the Garmin G5000 avionics suite. This includes four large 14-in LCD touch-screen displays, 3 landscape WXGA high-res displays, Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) and more.
Additional Information
- The Citation X is said to have a maximum cruise speed of Mach 0.92 at release. After an upgrade which happened sometime in 2014. It is said to have pushed that even further, to a maximum cruise speed of Mach 0.935.
- The upgraded Citation X (2014) has a cabin length that spans 25 ft 2″.
